Bulk Ingest is a framework that consists of a group of configurable worker processes that perform such steps as file transformation (conversion to PDF), metadata mapping and validation, document import / new version creation or optionally replication to other systems or alternate repositories.

The system processes work in an assembly-line fashion. Required document processing tasks move from one specialized worker process to the next until the document completes its designated route and is correctly imported into the target repository.

As requirements evolve, new worker processes can be incorporated to meet the challenges of changing business needs.
